Communal Felting

Thank you to everybody who came along to this afternoon’s Communal Felting workshop!

Together we cleaned and wet felted the raw fleece into sheets for @_thelanding_
The sheets will protect new growth from frost or heavy snow by covering beds.

The wool used in this workshop was collected from a hill farm in Derbyshire, to prevent it from being burnt.

This workshop forms part of an ongoing residency between the restaurant and artist @kthry_ and shepherd @cowmadbetty

Throughout the residency our aim is to open up the debate about the relationships between food and the environment, economic and social concerns through a series of creative workshops and events. Each workshop explores how artistic strategies can be used to address wide-ranging issues relating to food, agriculture and the environment.
