Eat Well MCR started as it became apparent that Covid-19 would severely impact the most vulnerable in our society. Chef Mary-Ellen McTague (The Creameries) started Eat Well MCR, providing food to stretched frontline NHS workers. It has since grown to provide meals to families with children in local hospitals, those living with food poverty, women seeking refuge, and homeless people. Last week Eat Well MCR provided 1,850 meals to people in need.

At present, chefs and volunteers in the collective are relying on their own funds and donated produce. We desperately require funds to meet the demand, and this is hopefully how you can help.

Where the Light Gets In supports Eat Well Mcr. Just £1 can provide a warm nutritious meal for an NHS worker, homeless person or someone in social care facilities across Manchester. Thank you.
